Man drowns into canal

A 27-year-old man drowned after he

was thrown into a canal when the motorcycle he was riding pillion on hit the water channel's guardrail here, police said today.

Prakash drowned in the canal last night. His younger brother Sanjai, who was riding the bike, fell on the canal's bank, they said.

"The flow of water into the canal was blocked to carry out search operations. But the body could not be traced," police said.
