A fast-track court today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife and two minor sons.
According to the prosecution, judge Manoj Mishra also imposed a fine of Rs 55,000 on the accused Shripal after holding him guilty under Sections 302, 201, and 498 A of the IPC.
On August 29, 2011, Shripal killed his 30-year-old wife Suman and their two sons, both fell in the age group of one- three years, by pushing them into Ganga canal at Baseda village under Chapar police station in the district.

The body of Suman was later recovered.
Suman's father Premchand had lodged a complaint, alleging that the trio was murdered after the dowry demand was not met.
Suman was married to Shripal in 2004 and she was being harassed over non-fulfilment of the dowry demand.
