The air intelligence unit of Mumbai Customs today arrested a man for allegedly smuggling 3.4 kilograms of gold worth Rs 65 lakh, a senior official said.
"The passenger Ashit Narula, who arrived from Hongkong, was apprehended and later arrested when the gold were seized from him," the official said.
According to him, the gold was concealed in a broad based support belt beneath Narula's shirt.
The recovered gold consisted of roll of gold, hollow flex tube of of 14KT and 18KT purity, he said, adding Narula admitted its possession.
