Man held in jewellery theft case

A person, who carried a reward of Rs 3.50 lakh on his head for allegedly stealing gold worth Rs 76 lakh from a jewelry shop in Mumbai, has been arrested here, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, the accused Vishnu Parihar was arrested yesterday from Navli area in Morena and handed over to Mumbai police, district Additional Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Singh said.

The accused worked as a helper with a jewellery shop in Mumbai and had stolen 2.80 kg of gold worth Rs 76 lakh from his workplace on January 14 this year after which he had escaped, the officer said, adding that a reward of Rs 3.50 lakh was announced by Mumbai police for his arrest.
