Man held under POCSO Act

A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old girl, raping and impregnating her, police said.

Jagadish, belonging to Anila in the district, had been charged under sections in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police traced the man from Hunsur in Mysuru district. Based on the statement of the girl, studying in class 12th, he was arrested, police said.

He was later produced in court and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
