A 25-year-old man was crushed to death by a tractor which hit his motorcycle while he was out distributing invitation cards for his wedding, police said today.
Surjit Singh, a resident of Murlipur village in Ghatampur, died on the spot in the mishap last evening, a police spokesperson said.
He was to get married a week later and had gone out to distribute invitation cards when his motorcycle was hit by the tractor, police said.
Following the accident, irate locals beat up the driver and cleaner and also damaged the vehicle. Later, police reached the spot and arrested the duo, the spokesperson said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is on, police said.
