A person was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a tractor trolley on Dera Baba Nanak-Batala road today, following which his family members allegedly thrashed an Assistant Sub-Inspector accusing him of helping the driver flee the spot.
Sarbjot Singh and his friend Jagjit Singh, both residents of Taragarh village, were going to Batala when the incident occurred, police said.
Sarbjot was killed while Jagjit was admitted to the civil hospital here with serious injuries, police said.
When the former's family members came to know about the incident they blocked the traffic by placing his body on the road and also allegedly thrashed an ASI accusing him of helping the tractor driver flee the spot.
The blockade was lifted after assurance of action against the driver by SP Headquarters Dilbag Singh, police said.
