A 26-year-old man allegedly killed his elderly father and two younger brothers over a land dispute in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana, police said today.

The incident occurred late last night on the agri field of the family in Mamillapalli village.

According to police, the accused, identified as S Mallaiah, allegedly stabbed his father S Bhaskar (65) while the latter was asleep before smashing his head with a stone.

He separately attacked his brothers, S Srisailam (23) and S Ramaswamy (20) in a similar manner, one after another.

"The family owns around three acres of agriculture land and Mallaiah had been quarelling with his father, apparently seeking the entire land for himself," a Uppununthala police station official said.

The matter came to light this morning after a villager saw one of the bodies lying in the field.

The accused was picked up for questioning.

Police have registered a case of murder and further investigation is on.
