Man sent to jail for possessing drugs

A man has been sentenced to four years in jail by a local court here for possessing drugs.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Pradeep Kumar convicted Subhash for the offence under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act yesterday and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

Police had arrested Subhash and seized 160 tablets of a drug from his possession when he was preparing to rob passengers by sedating them at Khatoli Railway Station in the district on October 11, 2012.
