A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death and another injured in an attack following a quarrel between two children, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Ran Singh (25) and the injured, his brother Brahm Singh (30), residents of Shankar Nagar colony who were attacked by some youths in Partapur area yesterday, police spokesperson said.
The trouble started when an 8-year-old girl from the deceased's family was slapped by a boy, police spokesperson said.
The girl's uncle then scolded the boy at which his family members took umbrage following which last night some youths attacked Ran and his brother with knives.
Ran died on the spot and his body was sent for postmortem, police said, adding the injured has been admitted into a hospital.
Police said five people have been arrested in the case.
