A 28-year-old man allegedly stabbed his parents to death and later committed suicide by consuming poison at his residence here, police said today.
Jaydeep Rathod, his father Ramesh Rathod (58) and mother Manjuben Rathod (55) were found dead at their residence in Ganesh Nagar area of the city last night, police said.
"The incident came to light last night, when Jaydeep's brother-in-law Chetan Gohel came to their house," they said.
"Chetan had been trying to contact Jaydeep on his mobile phone since morning yesterday. When no contact was established, he came to Jaydeep's house to find out what was wrong," inspector H M Kalavadiya of Aji Dam police station said.
"As there was no response to repeated knocking, the door of the house was forced open by Chetan and the neighbours, who found that Jaydeep was lying motionless on the ground and his parents lying in a pool of blood," he added.
Immediately, an ambulance was called in, but doctors declared Jaydeep and his parents brought dead.
"Jaydeep might have stabbed his parents to death and then committed suicide by consuming poison," Kalavadiya said.
The motive behind the crime was not yet clear and investigation into the case was on.
