A 55-year-old man and his wife, heading home on hearing about his mother's demise, were killed and their son injured when a lorry rammed into their car near here in the wee hours today.
Basheer, residing in Koilandy near here, was on his way to Payyoli along with his wife and son after hearing about the death of his mother.
A lorry coming rammed into Basheer's car from behind which inturn crashed into another lorry ahead of it near Koilandy, about 20 km from here, police said.
The man died on the spot and his wife succumbed to injuries while being rushed to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
Their son, who suffered serious injuries, had been admitted to the hospital, police said.
