Maneka asks Raj govt to look into petition against adoption of 5 girls by foreign nationals in Bharatpur

Women and asked the government to look into the reason behind the filing of a petition by the in against the adoption of five girls by foreign nationals.

She said the plea was filed despite the foreign nationals being permitted to adopt the girls under the Indian law.

According to a media report cited by Gandhi, the (CWC), had filed a writ in a family court against adoption of the girls by foreigners from an orphanage in the city.

Gandhi asked the government and the state's to look into the matter.

"I have requested them to look into the matter why members of in moved a writ petition against adoption by foreign nationals despite them being permitted to adopt under the Indian law," she said yesterday.
