Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari today met Union Minister of State for Urban Development Hardeep Singh Puri and requested him to order a "review" of the metro fare hike.

A delegation led by Tiwari also discussed plans for decongesting the city with Puri.

Tiwari requested the minister to order a "review of the new fares, especially for the slabs of 5 to 12 kms and 12 to 21 kms". He also sought relief for students and senior citizens, a party statement said.

The BJP chief also raised the issue of traffic snarls, especially in his parliamentary constituency of North East Delhi and the city outskirts.

"The minister assured to call a high-level meeting for time-bound completion of projects and for drawing up better traffic flow plans for Delhi," the statement said.

The "slow pace" of work on Signature bridge in North Delhi's Wazirabad was also discussed during the meeting, it said.
