With light to moderate rains lashing several parts of Punjab and Haryana, temperatures in the two states today dropped below normal limits.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 32.9 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal, the MeT Department said here.
In Haryana, Hisar experienced a pleasant day with maximum temperatures at 30.2 degrees Celsius, 12 twelve notches below normal after witnessing 27.4 mm rainfall, it said.
Karnal received 14 mm rainfall and recorded 31 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature.
Ambala's maximum settled at 33 degrees Celsius, six degrees
below normal after receiving 10.4 mm of rainfall. Narnaul recorded 32 degrees Celsius, nine notches below normal.
Among other places in Haryana, Yamunanagar, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rohtak and Bhiwani also received rainfall.
In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum settled at 33.4 degrees Celsius, seven notches below normal after getting 26.3 mm of rain.
Ludhiana registered 32.7 degrees Celsius and a rainfall of of 14.1 mm.
Patiala's maximum temperature settled at 32.1 degrees Celsius, eight degrees below normal, after receiving light rainfall.

Meanwhile, one person was killed after wall of his house collapsed in the thunderstorm in Garhi Harsaru village while a three-year-old infant was injured after a tree fell on the car she was travelling in.
Heavy rain and thunderstorm also affected the power supply of Gurgaon.
Some of the affected area where power supply was cut included DLF city, sector 4, 5, 32, 34, 39, 40, south city phase 1, Badshahpur and some areas of old Gurgaon, said Sanjeev Chopra, Superintending engineer of DHBVN, Gurgaon.
