Rains today lashed parts of Punjab and Haryana even as maximum temperatures hovered around normal level in the two states.
According to MeT office, Union Territory Chandigarh had a high of 31.9 degrees C, while it received rainfall of 9.7 mm.
In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded rainfall of 17.2 mm and 29.9 mm while their maximums were 31.7 degrees C and 32.1 degrees C respectively while Amritsar had a high of 33.5 degrees C.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded rainfall of 34.7 mm and its maximum was 33.8 degrees C. Bhiwani, Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul had highs of 35.4 degrees C, 35 degrees C, 33 degrees C and 30.2 degrees C respectively.
MeT department, in a forecast, said light to moderate rain may occur at few places in Punjab and Haryana during next 24 hours.
