Maximum temperature hovers around normal level in Pb, Hr

Maximum temperatures in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today hovered around normal levels with Ambala being the hottest place in the two states at 40.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.

Maximum temperatures hovered between two degree Celsius above normal to three notches below normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said.

Among other places, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded a maximum of 40.1 degrees Celsius while maximum temperature at Patiala was recorded at 40 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal. The maximum at Chandigarh was 39.5 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

Hisar in Haryana recorded a maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius.
 

MeT office forecasts thunder storm accompanied by squall with wind speed exceeding 45 Kmph at isolated places in the next 24 hours.
