within the country and abroad will participate in a three-day convention on tuberculosis here from February 8.
Leading doctors of World Health Organisation (WHO) and leading hospitals of the country will participate in the deliberations to take forward the fight against the disease which claims a life every one and half minute in the country, A A Hai, Convenor of Bihar Tuberculosis Association (BTA) told reporters here.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would inaugurate the meet, Jitendra Kumar Singh, co-convenor of BTA, which is hosting the programme, said.
The participants scheduled to be present at the programme were Achutanand of WHO, Liyaqat Ali Chaudhary from Saudi Arabia, Rajendra Prasad from Delhi and K C Mohanti and Giladia from Mumbai.
Jitendra Singh said there would be an interactive session between doctors, representatives of NGOs and social activists to spread awareness about the disease in the society.
