Mentha oil prices were up by 0.56 per cent to Rs 839.90 per kg in futures market today as participants built up fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing belts supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July rose by Rs 4.70, or 0.56 per cent to Rs 839.90 per kg in a business turnover of 52 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in far-month August traded higher by Rs 4.60, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 850 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders after pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
