Menthol up on pickup in demand

Menthol prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today on the back of pickup in demand from pharmaceutical units amid paucity of stocks.

Menthol bold crystal, menthol flake and mentha oil prices were up by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 1,130, Rs 1,120 and Rs 1,150 per kg, respectively.

Traders said buying support from pharmaceutical and other consuming industries, mainly pushed up menthol prices at the wholesale chemical market here.

Ammonium chloride (50 kg) Rs 2,000-3,000, Acetic acid (1kg) Rs 53-57, Ammonia bicarb (25 kg) Rs 600-700, Boric acid technical (50 kg) Rs 4,500-5,200, Borex granular (50 kg) Rs 2,200-2,500.
 

Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 1,850-1,950, Citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 3,600-3,800, Citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 3,800-4,000, Camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 360, Camphor powder (1kg) Rs 325, Glycerin (1 kg) Rs 140-160, Hexamine (1kg) Rs 95, Hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 36-50, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 1,130, menthol flake (1 kg) Rs 1,120 and mentha oil (1kg) Rs 1,150.
