Mercury stays below normal in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures today stayed below normal at most places in Punjab and Haryana, according to MeT.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum of 29.6 deg C, one degree below normal, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a maximum of 32.1 deg C and 30.8 deg C, respectively, a MeT department report said.

Union Territory Chandigarh recorded a high of 30.2 deg C, a degree below normal.

In Haryana, Ambala and Karnal recorded maximum temperatures of 29.1 deg C and 28.6 deg C, respectively, two degrees below normal each.

Maximum temperatures in Hisar and Narnaul settled at 32 deg C and 33 degree C, respectively.
 

The MeT Department has predicted light rain or thundershower at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
