Two minor girls, one
of them a dalit, were allegedly raped in separate incidents in Derabish police station area of Kendrapara district, police said today.
While the 12-year-old minor dalit girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in Badamangrajpur village, a 16-year-old minor was raped in Kansaripatana, according to complaints lodged the victims' parents.
The complaints were lodged today though the incidents took place last week, police said adding that one of the suspects has been detained.
Both the girls were medically examined.
Cases have been registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act and Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (Rape), 557 (Assault or criminal force in attempt wrongfully to confine a person), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation), police added.
