Vinay Chandra Mishra was appointed
Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh today in place of Surya Prakash Gupta who had resigned.
Governor B L Joshi had accepted Gupta's resignation and appointed Mishra as the new Advocate General, officials said.
Gupta, who was appointed as AG on March 18, 2012, had resigned from the post on October 18 citing personal reasons.
Mishra had held the post of the president of the Bar Council of India.
