Missing students found drowned to death

Two boys studying in the sixth standard who had gone missing since Saturday, were found dead after drowning in the Shanmunikunta village tank in Nekkonda mandal of Telangana state, a police official said here today.

According to the Nekkonda police sub-inspector, the two boys G Vikas (11) and P Vishnu (12) who studied in the local government high school, went missing since Saturday.

Since Saturday was Teachers' Day, the school remained closed early and the students decided to go for a swim in the tank, the police official said.

After they failed to return, family members found their clothes and belongings on the bank of the Shambunikunta tank, the police official said.
 

They reported the matter to the police after which the tank was searched and dead bodies of both the boys were retrieved, the police official said.

Theie bodies were shifted to the Gudur hospital for postmortem, the police official said.
