A missing 27-year-old married woman, whose family had approached the police with a video which purportedly showed her being gang-raped, has been traced to Punjab with her lover.

Police, which swung into action after the video showing four to five men allegedly raping her went viral in the neighbouring Pilibhit, traced her with one Vikki alias Gurpreet in Mohali at Punjab yesterday, IG Vijay Singh Meena said.

The woman denied that the clip had anything to do with her and any such incident took place with her, the IG said, adding that she also said that she had gone to Punjab on her own and was working at a private farm there.

The clipping, on examination, was found to be of a gang-rape which took place on February 6 last year, the IG said, adding that as the people in the video were found speaking Telegu, Andhra Pradesh police was also alerted.

On November 23, the woman, with her three-month-old infant, had left for her husband's house from her parents' place in Barha village under Sungadhi police station area in Pilibhit but did not reach there.

The family had accused the police of not registering their missing complaint until they approached the police with the video clipping which was received on her brother's Whatsapp.

The IG said that SI Indrajit Singh Bhadauria has already been suspended for not taking prompt action on the family's complaint.
"Eman's family told me that she was diagnosed with

elephantiasis, caused by parasitic infection, wherein her body parts including arms and legs swell out of proportion," he said, adding that Eman started gaining weight since her childhood and her movements started getting restricted.

She weighed five kg at the time of her birth, which was above the normal weight, Lakadawala said, adding Eman is looked after by her mother and sister.

Explaining the course of treatment, the surgeon said, "Post surgery, she will have to stay here in Mumbai for three months for sure. Subsequent treatment would include exercise, diet and medication. She is around 36-year-old, so her health can be improved. She needs to be less than 100 kg in next three years."

The surgeon was approached by Eman's family in October, who after going through the papers decided to take up the case.
