Mizoram government shows no mercy against corrupt officials

Mizoram government has taken several punitive actions against corrupt officials as the government was committed to uproot corruption in the state, Home Minister R Lalzirliana said on Monday.

Of the total 1,606 corruption cases taken up by departmental proceedings, 1,441 cases were disposed of with 1,223 government officials being punished since 2008 till date, Lalzirliana told reporters here.

He also said that of the 211 cases disposed by the state Anti Corruption Bureau, 154 officials were awarded punishment during the period.
