Moderate rainfall in north Bengal region

Parts of north Bengal received moderate rainfall, while the monsoon remained subdued in most parts of Gangetic West Bengal with the MeT Department today forecasting moderate to low rainfall till tomorrow.

Darjeeling received 26.3 mm of rainfall, highest in the state during the period, it said.

Jalpaiguri received 14.7 mm of rainfall, while other parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal received scant rainfall.

In Gangetic West Bengal, Bankura received the highest rainfall at 20.8 mm.

Bankura also recorded the day's highest temperature at 33.2 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.

Maximu temperature in Kolkata was recorded at 32.7 degrees Celsius, as the city received 3.7 mm of rainfall since yesterday morning.
 

The weatherman has forecast generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain in Gangetic West Bengal as well as the sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
