Moradabad mayor passes away

Moradabad mayor Veena Agarwal died here today due to cardiac arrest.

The 62-year-old BJP leader had complained of chest pain this morning following which she was taken to a clinic. She was referred to Fortis hospital where she breathed her last at around 1 PM.

Veena is survived by her husband Vinod Agarwal, also a BJP leader, two daughters and a son.

She was first elected Mayor of Moradabad in 2002. She was re-elected in 2012.
