Mother pushes baby girl into well

A mother allegedly killed her baby girl after pushing the child into well at Gantala in Nabadwip area of Nadia district .

The Mother of the baby Jhuma Samanta broke down after persistent police grilling and allegedly confessed about pushing her two-month old girl, Nandini, into well in a fit of pique yesterday, police said,

Laxmi Narayan Samanta, the husband to Jhuma and a security guard. Was not at home during the tragedy.

The child reportedly suffered from malnutrition.
