Mother Teresa Memorial Award to Sulabh International founder

The Mother Teresa Memorial Award, instituted by Indian Development Foundation, was today awarded to Bindeswhar Pathak, founder of Sulabh International, towards his contributions for India's sanitation, health and hygiene movement.
Prof M S Swaminathan of the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) gave away the award to Pathak at a function here.
A R K Pillai, founder of IDF, hailed Pathak's efforts in constructing about 8,000 toilet complexes across India, in the process reducing open defecation and virtually ending manual scavenging.
