The Special Task Force (STF) of police today arrested four persons for allegedly leaking the question paper of Ayurved Medical Officer Examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.

Following this, MPPSC has temporarily stopped the assessment of answer sheets.

Acting on the complaint of a group of Ayurved Medical Officers, STF arrested Surendra Patel, Dr Shailendra Singh Sengar, Sunil Datt Pathak and Dr Radhasharan Sharma, police sources said.

A case was registered against them under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (fraud) of the Indian Penal Code and some sections of Madhya Pradesh Recognised Examination Act.

Initial probe revealed that the accused sold the leaked paper for lakhs of rupees.

The examination for 722 posts was conducted on May 18 and a total of 7,500 candidates appeared for it.

MPPSC Secretary Manohar Dube said in a statement: "After reports of the leaking...The Commission has asked the concerned officials not to check the answer sheets till further orders."

A three-member team headed by Commission Member Bipin Beohar will conduct an internal probe. MPPSC has sought report from the police at the earliest so that decision can be taken on the issue of cancelling the examination.
