Uttarakhand Police today recommended a CBI probe be conducted into the unauthorised stay of a woman at the IAS training academy in Mussoorie for over six months masquerading as a probationer.

Garhwal Range IG Sanjay Gunjyal, on the basis of suggestions from Dehradun SSP, has recommended that the state government conducts a CBI probe into the case, a press release issued here said today.

The IG has recommended a CBI probe into the case as the issue belongs to a national level institution, it said.

Ruby Chaudhury had stayed at the prestigious IAS training academy for over six months masquerading as a probationer and accused a senior officer of taking bribe to facilitate her stay, and was later arrested in the first week of April.

Chaudhury hails from Muzaffarnagar in UP.
