NALCO hands Rs 260.72 cr dividend to govt

Aluminium major Nalco today paid an interim dividend of Rs 260.72 crore to the government for 2014-15.

"Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Steel and Mines, was presented a cheque amounting to Rs 260.72 crore by CMD Ansuman Das, as interim dividend on the 80.93 percent shares held by the government," NALCO added.

The navaratna PSU has declared an interim dividend of 25 per cent or Rs 1.25 per share of Rs 5 each, amounting to Rs 322.16 crore for 2014-15, an official statement read.

In 2013-14, the company had declared a total dividend of Rs 386.59 crore.

So far, the company has paid a total dividend of Rs 5,228 crore, including Rs 4,995 crore to the government.
