Nashik man injured in firing

A man with a criminal background was today injured in firing by an unidentified person here this afternoon, police said.

Sandeep Lad, a resident of Phule Nagar here, was hit on his shoulder by the bullet fired from a pistol and rushed to a private hospital for treatment, an official of the Panchavati Police Station said.

The incident took place at around 3 pm, he said.

Lad has a criminal background, the official said, adding an old enmity may have led to the attack on him.

A search has been launched for the unidentified assailant, he added.
