Navy team in search of trapped miners

Ten days after two miners were trapped in a coal mine in Ramgarh district, a team from the Navy entered the mine in search of them today, a Central Coalfield Limited official said.

Equipped with modern gadgets, the six-member Navy team entered Barka-Sayal mine where the two were trapped since August 16 when huge quantity of water from a closed coal mine gushed in breaking the isolation wall between two mines, CMD of Central Coal Fields Limited Gopal Singh told PTI.

However, they were yet to trace the two miners identified as Ashok Singh (47) and Pravesh Nonia (57), said V C Tiwary, Project Officer of Sayal mine.
 

As many as 45 teams from CCL, BCCL and ECL had tried in vain for the past 10 days to find them out, an official said.
