Nickel prices traded higher by 0.60 per cent to Rs 932.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators widened their bets, taking positive cues from spot market on rising demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in May went up by Rs 5.60, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 932.60 per kg in a business turnover of 1,332 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in June contracts was trading higher by Rs 5, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 935.40 per kg in 33 lots.
Analysts said increase in positions by participants on the back of surging demand from alloy-makers at the spot market attributed the rise in nickel futures.
