Gem Hospital and Research Centre here has instituted the 'Nightingale Award,' for the best nurse in the hospital from this year onwards.
Announcing this at the graduation ceremony of the 2nd Batch B Sc (Nursing) of GEM Institute of Nursing Education and Research, Dr Senthilnathan, Joint Managing Trustee, said that this was to motivate the nursing community to better their noble services towards the community.
Juries from internal and external side of hospital would select the nurse for the award and the modalities of the award will be worked out later, he said.
Dr S V Balaubramaniam, Chairman, Bannariamman Group, gage away certificates to the 45 nurses, who passed out during this year.
