Not interested in playing damsel in distress roles: Tomlinson

Actress Eleanor Tomlinson, who plays strong-headed Demelza on TV show "Poldark", has praised Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence for paving the way for women to play strong characters in Hollywood.
The 24-year-old actress says she herself wants roles that are not about being the damsel in distress, reported The Sunday Telegraph.
"Jennifer has really opened up a whole category of films for women. There are now superhero movies fronted by women and I think directors generally are moving away from that stereotypical woman's role that is just about being flirted with by a man before falling into his arms.
