The North Western Railway has registered a growth of 26 per cent in revenue collection in the year 2012-13 as compared to the previous year.
"The total revenue collection in 2012-13, which is 26 per cent more than the FY 2011-12, is Rs 5002.07 crore," NWR Spokesperson Tarun K Jain told reporters here today.
"Maximum growth of 35.44 per cent is in the income from freight whereas the collection from passenger tickets is 15.26 per cent more than that of the previous year," he said.

In the current fiscal, he said passenger tickets and freight generated income of Rs 1,170.83 crore and Rs 3,562 crore respectively.
The remaining amount was collected from other sources, Jain said, adding that efficient functioning improved the revenue.
