On the occasion of the 4th International Day of Yoga Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced to set up a 'Yog Aayog' in the state.
Urging the people to make practising yoga an integral part of their daily routine to energise their body and mind, he said the 'Yog Aayog' will promote yoga in the state.
Presiding over a state-level yoga programme here, the chief minister said practising yoga leads to physical, mental and spiritual development and is helpful in all round development of one's personality.
Asserting that Yoga, the glorious tradition of Indian culture, has gained worldwide recognition, Khattar said, "It a matter of pride for us that the United Nations passed the resolution (four years back), involving 177 countries of the world for declaring this day as Yoga Day on international level."
"Since then every year on June 21, it is celebrated all around the world and the future generations would definitely remember and would always be thankful for the efforts of the present government on every Yoga Day," he said.
Khattar credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for establishing the Indian tradition of yoga on a global platform.
Asserting that to stay stress-free, everyone should try to dedicate one day per week to oneself, such as making Sunday as "fun day", he said, "It would make the entire week stress-free. This one day would allow exploring the power within and enhancing positivity in life."
The chief minister said that in order to awaken the sense of happiness in the minds of people with physical development, 'Raahgiri' programme are being organised fortnightly or monthly in all the districts of Haryana.
State Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar was also present at the state-level programme.
