One killed, 2 injured in mishap

A woman was killed while her son and husband were injured when a truck hit their motorcycle here, police said today.

Navjeet Kaur (30), a resident of Ludhiana, was thrown off the bike along with her husband and son when a truck rammed into them, an officer from Jalandhar Police Commissionerate said.

Kaur died on the spot. The injured have been admitted to a hospital where their condition is stable, the officer said.

A search is on to establish the identity of the truck owner and driver, and a case against unknown persons has been registered, the officer added.

The body has been sent for postmortem and a probe into the matter is on.
