One person, alleged to be a cattle smuggler, was killed and five others arrested in a police encounter in Sidhpur area early in the morning today, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police Vinay Yadav said that around 2 am that police was tipped off that some persons were loading cattle in a vehicle near Bakawali village.
He said that when the police team reached the spot, the criminals opened fire, prompting police to retaliate, and in the cross-firing, one Netrapal alias Neta was killed.
