An unidentified militant was killed as a gunbattle raged between ultras and security forces in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.
The encounter started this morning after security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Khushi Mohalla in the district, about 35 kms from here, following information about presence of militants there, police said.
By afternoon, one militant was killed in the gunbattle, police said.
At least one more militant was still engaging the security forces and intermittent exchange of firing was continuing.
