At least one soldier of Pakistan's paramilitary rangers was today killed and 14 others, including five personnel from the force, injured when a bomb ripped through a check post in the southern Sindh province, officials said.
A cycle rigged with bombs and parked near the Rangers' check post was used for the attack that occurred on Miro Khan Road in Larkana district, police official Noor Chandio said.
Those injured include nine civilians and were shifted to Chandka hospital in Larkana.
Some of the injured were in critical condition.
Hours after the attack, Ahsanullah Ahsan, a spokesman for the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar militant group, claimed responsibility in a statement, in which he warned of more such attacks in the future.
The attack comes four days after two army soldiers were killed in a gun attack in Karachi, capital of Sindh province.
Taliban had claimed responsibility for the attack.
Today's bombing attack came a day after Syed Murad Ali Shah was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Sindh province.
Shah replaced Syed Qaim Ali Shah and faces a tough challenge of managing law and order in the province.
