Orissa High Court lawyers abstain from court work

Lawyers of the Orissa High Court today decided to abstain from court work till Friday to protest the transfer of judges from here, without the vacancies being filled up on time.
The general body of the High Court Bar Association made a unanimous resolution when the lawyers raised the issue of recent transfer of a judge from here to the Madras High Court, said the president of the bar association, Ashok Parija.
The high court here has a strength of 18 judges, including the chief justice, against the sanctioned strength of 22 judges.
