Over 49 lakh tonnes wheat arrive in Haryana

As much as 49.53 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived in Haryana so far in the ongoing kharif marketing season.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said out of the total arrival of paddy, 43.26 lakh tonnes were of Grade A, 13,555 lakh tonnes Sharbati, 1.73 lakh tonnes Muchhal and 4.40 lakh tonnes were Basmati.

Out of arrival, 40.75 lakh tonnes paddy has been purchased by government procurement agencies. During this period last year, 35.95 lakh tonnes paddy had arrived in the mandis.

Giving detailed information about paddy procurement, a spokesman of the Department said 18.50 lakh tonnes of paddy was purchased by the Food and Supplies Department, 14.50 lakh tonnes purchased by Hafed, 4.24 lakh tonnes purchased by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and 3.49 lakh tonnes have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation.
