Over 68,000 people today participated in 10th edition of 'Spirit of Wipro Run', an annual global initiative organised by IT major Wipro here.
The company employees, their families, friends, customers, partners, analysts and suppliers ran together at different locations across the world, Wipro said in a release.
The central theme of this year's event - 'Run with a purpose' - is focused on educating children with disability, it said, adding that the Wipro offices around the globe will raise funds to support the cause through this initiative.
Wipro said the 10th edition of the 'Spirit of Wipro Run' saw participation of over 68,000 people, including over 1,500 from various client organisations. In India, the marathon was held in 16 cities, including Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
"Marathons are a celebration of the human spirit and instill in us the quality of perseverance to overcome challenges and obstacles in the pursuit of our goals," Wipro Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board T K Kurien said.
