Press Trust of India Coimbatore
City based Bharathiar University (BU) today claimed it has become the first University in Tamil Nadu to launch paperless verification using Global Document Veritication System (GDVS).

The system facilitates the universities, alumnus and a document relying party to be on a single web eco-system enabling faster, cost effective and efficient verification and authentication of certificate and mark list, BU officials said.

To verify BU issued certificates or marklists, alumnus or any other document users can upload the document at +wwwbharathiaruniversity.Directverification.In+ and after an online payment, the university would verify credentials of the uploaded certificate or marklists with their records, they said.

A high-level data and system security has been put in place to ensure data and reliability and the certificates and marklists were verified only by authorised officials of the University using their login and access tokens.

Upon verification, the system automatically embeds the verifier credentials and verification result on to the certificate or marklists leaving an audit trail.

The system was launched as numerous fake documents are reported to have hampered the credibility of various institutions, thereby rendering certificates issued to students losing their value, the officials said.

The system is a secure, paperless, online document verification and authentication technology developed by myeasingdocs.Com with support and inspiration of IIT, Madras, they said.
