Most parts of north India reeled under hot weather conditions today even as monsoon revived in parts of Rajasthan after a brief hiatus.
Despite a marginal dip in humidity levels, Delhiites continued to experience hot and sultry weather with mercury registering above-normal temperatures.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average for this time, while the minimum settled two notches above the normal at 28 degrees Celsius, a Met Department official said.

The humidity levels were recorded between 35 and 71 per cent today, causing much discomfort to people in the city.
Hot and humid conditions prevailed in most parts of Punjab and Haryana too with maximum temperatures settling well above normal levels.
According to the MeT department humidity levels ranged between 70 to 85 per cent at many places in the two states.
Hisar was hottest in the region at 39.8 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, while Narnaul recorded 38.3 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, and Ambala's maximum settled at 36.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
The Union territory of Chandigarh recorded 36.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
In Punjab, the maximum temperature at Amritsar and Patiala was identical at 37 degrees Celsius, two and four notches above normal respectively, while Ludhiana recorded 36 degrees Celsius at Ludhiana, three notches above normal.
After a week-long lull, southwest monsoon revived in parts of Rajasthan bringing relief to people in the regions even as hot weather prevailed over other parts of the state.
Udaipur, Kota, Banswara and Jhalawar districts with Badgaon recorded 5 cm of rainfall followed by Gogunda, Lasadia and Dhambola 4 cm each, Sallopot, Udaipur, Kotda 3 cm each, Manoharthana (Jhalawar), Gangdhar 2 cm each, and one cm at many places in eastern parts of the state, a Met report said.
Mercury showed an upward trend in other parts of the state with Churu sizzling at 41.8 degrees Celsius, making it one of the hottest days in August in Rajasthan, the report said.
Whereas Bikaner recorded a maximum of 40.8 degrees Celsius, Ganganagar recorded 40.1, Jaipur 39.8, Jaisalmer 39.6, and Pilani 39.5 degrees Celsius.
