Maximum temperatures today stayed close to normal levels in Punjab and Haryana as several parts of both the states witnessed rains during the night.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of both the states recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal and received 0.4 mm rains in the night.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34.4 degrees Celsius and 45.7 mm rainfall while maximum temperatures in Hisar and Karnal were 35.7 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius respectively.

Amritsar in Punjab received 19.6 mm rains in the night and recorded a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana registered a high of 35.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal. Patiala recorded a high of 34 degrees Celsius with 30.4 mm rainfall.
The weatherman has forecast light to moderate rains and thundershowers at a few places in the two states till tomorrow.
